From 1 until 3 July 2022, Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port), a member of MMC Group, participated in the Penang International Halal Expo & Conference (PIHEC) at Setia SPICE Convention Centre.
The expo was officiated by His Excellency Tun Dato' Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, Governor of Penang witnessed by Yang Amat Berhormat Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang and Yang Berhormat Dato' Haji Abdul Halim Hussain, EXCO of Penang State Government (Trade, Industry and Entrepreneur Development).
Dato’ Sasedharan Vasudevan, Chief Executive Officer of Penang Port also attended the Halal Excellence Awards Gala Dinner, which was held on 2 July 2022 at the Eastin Hotel, Penang.
PIHEC 2022 also hosted a conference on post-COVID-19 coordination with panels discussing various topics such as sustainable halal technology, logistical challenges due to high inflation and global food security.
Penang Port’s participation in this expo would be able to maximise its efforts in identifying potential clients through comprehensive business matching which will further expand the business networking.
