Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff) successfully launched ‘HR2U Day’, which is an employee-engagement initiative inaugurated by the People Division on 13 September 2022 at Malakoff Academy of Excellence (MAX) in Plaza Sentral. The launch was officiated by Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, Malakoff’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer and attended by Raja Iskandar Raja Mukhtaruddin, Head of People Division, members of the Management, as well as Malakoff headquarters employees.

With the theme ‘Stronger Together’, this roadshow-like initiative that aims to provide an additional platform for communication between People Division and employees, commenced with Tanjung Bin Power Plant (TBPP) on 4 August 2022, followed by Lumut Power Plant (LPP) on 8 August 2022 and Prai Power Plant (Prai) on 9 August 2022 before its finale at Malakoff headquarters. This initiative is also aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal No. 8 which promotes sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment as well as decent work for all.

Aside from the lucky draw, various vendors were invited to not only provide employees with a free consultation (medical, dental, optical and physical) but to also provide on-the-spot examinations. A free Influenza vaccination shot was also provided on the day of the event across all sites. Additionally, representatives from FWD Takaful, AIA Insurance and Public Mutual Bank were present for employees who would like to seek advice or enquire about investment.

A motivational talk entitled, ‘The Meaning and Value of Work’, by guest speaker Rayyan Irwan from TH Holdings was very insightful. There was also an educational talk on how to efficiently fill up our annual income tax form by Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri held in all plant sites. The highlight of this initiative was the presentation on People’s Transformation Agenda and Pulse Survey Results by Raja Iskandar where a roadmap of employee welfare was shared, followed by a dialogue between Encik Raja Iskandar and employees where concerns and issues were raised and addressed.
