On 7 January 2025, Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia), a member of MMC Group, welcomed delegates from Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding), led by Tan Sri Ong Ka Chuan, former Second Minister of International Trade and Industry, to its head office for a courtesy visit. The objective of the visit was to explore collaboration and discuss potential business opportunities, with a particular focus on harnessing technical expertise as well as experience in the biomethanol business.
During the visit, Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Gas Malaysia provided an insightful update on the company’s latest business standing and strategic initiatives. He highlighted Gas Malaysia key achievements and outlined the future direction and growth prospects of the gas industry, offering valuable insights into the company’s ongoing efforts to drive innovation and sustainability across all businesses.
Four delegates from Geely Holding who attended the visit and participated in the discussion were Dr Shen Yuan, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Geely Holding Group, Dr Ma Zhichao, Project Director of GIC Green Methanol Laboratory, Dr Lu Xingxu, Technical Specialist of GIC Green Methanol Laboratory and Zu Yu, Chief Engineer of GIC Green Methanol Laboratory. Their valuable perspectives further enriched the dialogue through the exchange of ideas.
