On 23 March 2025, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd ("Northport"), a member of MMC Group, welcomed a visit from Skuad Ihsan MADANI - Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry ("MITI"), for the distribution of 'sahur' food packs to Northport employees and Royal Malaysian Customs Department officers stationed at Northport premises.
The Skuad Ihsan MADANI MITI team, led by En. Azmir Musyabri Abdul Mutalib, Director of AKI, Outreach & Shares Division, MITI arrived at around 1.00 am, and was received by Northport's Management led by its Chief Operating Officer, Mr. G. Ulaganathan. A total of 400 sahur food packs were distributed to employees working the midnight shift, including those from Container Services, Conventional Cargo Services, Marine Services, Port Auxiliary Police and Fire and Rescue Services.
The programme was part of an initiative to provide 'sahur' food packs to economic frontliners in Port Klang, including those at Westports. It aimed to recognise their contributions in ensuring the smooth operation of trade and supporting the nation's economic growth. This initiative also reflects a strategic collaboration between Northport and MITI, demonstrating their commitment to supporting port workers while fostering goodwill as a responsible corporate organization.
