On 18 February 2025, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), a member of MMC Group, held the Malakoff Innovation Challenge Award at the Malakoff Academy of Excellence to foster innovation and enhance operational efficiency. The event was officiated by Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, Managing Director/Group Chief Executive Offier of Malakoff and Raja Iskandar Raja Mukhtarruddin, Chief People Officer of Malakoff.
The Malakoff Innovation Challenge 2024 encouraged employees to develop cost-saving strategies with guidance from innovation coaches. Running from March to September 2024, teams submitted proposals and refined their ideas through mentorship.
During the award ceremony, nine teams were recognised, with Team Crush 'Em winning first place, followed by Team TBPP PMS and Team TBE OPS 42. Winners received RM25,000 cash, an RM15,000 incentive trip, and the prestigious W.I.N Innovation Challenge Champion Trophy. The top three teams also qualified for the National Innovation Award 2024 by Malaysia Productivity Corporation.
Beyond promoting innovation, the challenge strengthened teamwork and cross-departmental collaboration. This initiative reflects Malakoff’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 9 - Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, which aims to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation. It is also aligned with Malakoff’s overarching purpose of ‘Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities’.
