On 16 January 2025, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, kicked off the company’s 25th anniversary celebrations with a vibrant soft launch event held at Wisma PTP. The event, attended by over 400 employees from all levels and divisions, served as the official commencement of a year-long celebration, culminating in a grand finale later in the year.
The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the official 25th anniversary logo by Mark Hardiman, PTP Chief Executive Officer, alongside Muhammad Abdullah Hatta, PTP Chief Financial Officer. The logo, which serves as a symbol of the company's journey and future aspirations, was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience during its unveiling.
The event also honoured the winners of the PTP 25 Years Anniversary Photography and Videography Contest, recognising the creative talents within the PTP family.
Furthermore, the event also introduced the "Laman TroPTPika", a dedicated tropical garden within the company’s grounds. This initiative, part of PTP's commitment to environmental sustainability, aims to populate the designated area with various fruit plants. To symbolise this initiative, PTP management members actively participated in a tree-planting activity, nurturing saplings of Rambutan, Mango, Soursop, Ciku, and Guava.
Additionally, to commemorate the historic milestone of becoming the first container terminal in Malaysia to surpass 12 million Twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEUs) in 2024, all employees were invited to join the PTP senior management team for a commemorative photograph in front of the specially placed 12-millionth container.
PTP, established in 2000, has consistently demonstrated remarkable growth, evolving from its humble beginnings into a global leader. Currently ranked 15th busiest globally and 5th most efficient, PTP stands as Malaysia's largest transshipment hub. This significant achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication of the entire PTP team, as well as the invaluable support of customers, business partners, and stakeholders throughout this 25-year journey. As PTP embarks on the next chapter of its success story, the company remains committed to innovation, efficiency, and sustainable growth.
