Northport Strengthens its Sustainability Initiatives With the Acquisition of 12 Electric Bikes

On 11 March 2025, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, reinforced its commitment to environmental sustainability with the acquisition of 12 units of electric bikes. The handover ceremony was held at Northport C Building, where the vehicle manufacturer, Blueshark Ecosystem Sdn Bhd (Blueshark), delivered the newly acquired electric bikes to Northport.

The event was attended by Fakhrul Azhar Tajudin, Chief Executive Officer of Northport, along with Northport’s management team and representatives from user divisions and departments. The Blueshark R1 electric bikes will replace the existing motorcycles currently used by the Port Auxiliary Police (PAP), Conventional Cargo Services, Commercial - Vehicle Transit Centre, Finance - Documentation Centre and Corporate Services - Administration.

Prior to this, Northport had already acquired two units of the same model for security and operational surveillance by PAP and Logistics Services. This initiative reflects Northport’s commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles by integrating sustainability initiatives and responsible business practices into its port operations.
