On 7 January 2025, Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd (Senai International Airport), a member of MMC Group, marks a memorable event as Teleport, a leading logistics provider, confirmed the commencement of the company’s operations at the Senai International Airport beginning February 2025. This achievement follows consistent collaborative efforts and follow-ups to bring the company onboard.
Teleport will begin by utilising the commercial flight passenger belly space for the company’s cargo operations. The flights will operate daily and serving key destinations such as Kuching, Miri, Sibu, and Kota Kinabalu. Approximately 300-400kg shipments will be commenced daily as it is primarily aimed at supporting Teleport’s newly acquired customer, Flash Express. Presently, the cargo items will mainly comprise of e-commerce shipments transported from southern Malaysia to East Malaysia.
Notably, this initiative is also designed to divert the traffic flow from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru, enhancing Senai International Airport's role as a key logistics hub. During the company visit on 7 January 2025, Teleport conducted a successful trial run to assess the operational flow and processes, including customs clearance and payment procedures via Johor Bahru.
Senai International Airport confident as business volumes grow, Teleport will soon expand the company’s operations by deploying freighters via Johor Bahru to other continents, further boosting airport’s cargo capabilities and positioning the southern region as a strategic logistics gateway.
