Johor Port Bridges Expertise With Liscs for Future-Ready Governance

On 3 February 2025, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from the Leadership Institute of Sarawak Civil Service (LISCS), led by Norliza Eileen binti Ibrahim, Principal Assistant Director of the Career Development Section within the Human Resource Development and Management Unit (HRDMU) of Sarawak. The delegation was warmly welcomed by K C Low, Head of Corporate Affairs Johor Port.

LISCS is at the forefront of developing a Competency Profiling Framework aimed to strengthen Sarawak’s Civil Service in line with the institute’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030. Recognizing Johor Port’s global expertise in port development and logistics, the engagement focused on developing competencies, workforce upskilling, and the adoption of industry best practices.

The highlight of the visit was the engagement session with JP Skills Centre (JPSC), Johor Port’s dedicated Training Division, which shared its approach to competency mapping and talent development within the port and logistics sector. To further enhance understanding, the LISCS delegation participated in a tour around the port, gaining firsthand exposure of Johor Port’s complex operations, advanced logistics solutions, and workforce capabilities.

This meaningful exchange highlights the significance of cross-industry collaboration in shaping a resilient and future-ready workforce while exploring further synergies in competency development and knowledge sharing. Johor Port extends its gratitude to LISCS for choosing Johor Port Berhad as a learning platform.
