On 12 February 2025, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, marked another significant milestone as the 2nd Collective Agreement (CA) between PTP and KEPTP was officially signed. The agreement with, KEPTP which represents the management staff from Supervisor to Senior Executive levels is for a duration of three years, from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027.
In March 2024, the initial CA proposal was submitted by KEPTP, making it as a signal and intention to commence negotiations. On 13 May 2024, a CA Kick-Off Meeting was held to align expectations and aspirations between both parties.
As both sides strived to achieve the best possible outcome for the employees and the company, the parties adopted a joint-mandate approach. A series of meetings and engagements with stakeholders were conducted throughout the negotiation process to facilitate discussions and reach mutual agreement.
Mark Hardiman, PTP’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed sincere appreciation to both negotiation teams for the dedication and hard work over the past year. He also expressed sincere gratitude to KEPTP’s representatives for the professionalism, cooperation, and understanding throughout the discussions. The representatives’ dedication to ensuring the well-being of employees while keeping in mind the company’s financial sustainability is truly commendable.
CA is an important document that stipulates the terms and conditions of employment, which is normally negotiated by KEPTP and PTP every three years. The objective of this Agreement is to provide for a clear understanding of the relationship between the company and the union in matters concerning the terms and conditions of service for all employees represented by the union.
