On 16 January 2025, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, had the honour of hosting a visit from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), led by Prof. Madya Ir. Ts. Dr Jasrul Jamani Jamian.
The visit commenced with a comprehensive presentation by Adibah Mashudi, an Engineer from Facility Management Department (FMD) Johor Port, who shared an overview of Johor Port’s ERT-M&E operations. During the presentation, she highlighted the critical role of engineering in maintaining operational efficiency. The session then continued by Ir. Ln. Ts. Mohd Khairul Azizat Johari, Head of FMD Johor Port, who shared his personal journey as an engineer, offering valuable insights into the challenges, rewards and opportunities within the profession further inspire and motivate the students to pursue future careers in the industry.
The visit also included a guided tour of Johor Port’s facilities to give hands-on experience and to witness the integration of advanced electrical systems and cutting-edge technologies used in Johor Port’s operations. This experiential learning opportunity bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications, providing students with a practical perspective on the port and logistics industry.
Prof. Madya Ir. Ts. Dr Jasrul expressed his gratitude for the experience, acknowledging that such engagements are essential in preparing his students for future successes by exposing them to real-life industry practices and inspiring innovations.
