On 6 March 2025, Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of MMC Group, continues to uphold the company’s cherished tradition of spreading goodwill, once again nourishing the underprivileged in and around Gelang Patah and Johor Bahru during this sacred month of Ramadan.

In the true spirit of community and generosity, over 3,500 servings of steaming hot bubur lambuk were prepared by dedicated volunteers from PTP and the local villages of Mukim Tanjung Kupang. These hearty portions were distributed to orphanages, senior citizen care centres, mosques, homeless and members of the community in need.

This meaningful programme, under the banner of PTP’s KasihLestari CSR initiative, was made possible through a collaboration with the Johor Bahru District Office, Association of Wives and Women Members of the Malaysian Public Service (PUSPANITA) Johor Bahru, Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP), SWCorp, Jabatan Penerangan, INSTEDT, Mukim Tanjung Kupang, and NGO Ihsan Johor.

Rolling up their sleeves and joining the effort were Mark Hardiman, Chief Executive Officer of PTP, alongside Tuan Haji Mohd Masni Wakiman, Johor Bahru District Office; YB Datuk Pandak Ahmad, Assemblyman of Kota Iskandar; Tuan Haji Syed Norul Shahril Syed Nasir, District Land Administrator; representatives of Mayor Iskandar Puteri and Iskandar Parliamentary; Mohamad Faiz Mohd Pandi, Penghulu of Mukim Tanjung Kupang; together with PTP’s Senior Management team. Working side by side with the community, they took part in this heartwarming initiative, reinforcing the bonds of unity and shared purpose.

Adding a joyful touch to the occasion, friendly contests were also held for the tastiest bubur lambuk, the most creative name, the best-decorated booth, and even the best-dressed participants among the villages.

PTP has been conducting its Bubur Lambuk Distribution for more than 16 years, often with collaboration from various local community leaders and residents, with its primary aim to deliver necessary assistance and ease the burden of the needy in the communities surrounding the port.

PTP’s Corporate Social Investment framework focuses on three key areas: education, environment, and community development to uplift the lives of its surrounding communities.
